Talland Bay

Small remote rocky beach with a cafe and a fairly large hotel.

By TD Morrow

Where to Kayak : South West : Talland Bay

Type: Sea

Getting There

Between Looe and Polperro in South East Cornwall. Narrow roads and steep hills till you get down to the bay.

Description

Best at low tide. Once out in the bay, go to either side and find lots of natural canyons in the cliffs which are easy to navigate. Plenty of small beaches that are only accessible from the sea.

Facilities

Lots of free parking alongside the road, cafe with a large carpark. Kayak hire from main beach.

Put-ins / Take-outs

Obvious

Hazards

Better at low tide due to rocks. Also better with northerly winds as the bay is south facing - less surf and swell.

Notes

Webcams available in Looe to check weather and surf. Look for the Watermark and Gulls hotels.
