tiny little harbour on the south coast of cornwall. steep cliffs, clear water and plenty of wildlife around.

Getting There

A30 to penzance, drive through and head for Newlyn, follow signs for Lamorna cove.

Description

tiny granite walled harbour in a cliffed bay. slipway to the enclosed beach and waters edge. very peaceful once you leave the bay with a jagged coastline of cliffs and caves to explore.

Facilities

toilets, parking, small cafe, and a pub in the village.

Put-ins / Take-outs

slipway from carpark to harbour beach.. easy

Hazards

narrow road approaches Lamorna cove, be prepared to reverse if you meet oncoming traffic, the union Star and the penlee lifeboat were wrecked with the loss of all lives on this coastline approax 1 mile right out of the cove, respect the broken hull still visiable at low tide.

Notes

good fishing but a bit weedy,watch the weather and tides.
