Talland Bay
Small remote rocky beach with a cafe and a fairly large hotel.

Several good places to enter. An easy one is at Westhay on the road to Wedmore from Glastonbury. Enter BA6 then search for it on any Maps site. Opposite the 'Bird in Hand' pub.

Very calm in all types of weather, mainly countryside along the route. Gentle paddle excellent for beginners with a footpath and easy and plenty stop points on this short paddle.
Charmouth
Picks up good surf and never crowded. Nice paddle to Lyme Regis for a cream tea.

start on the beach, paddle through the popular bay toward and round the famous 'old harry's rocks...along the rockface for a mile or so, and into the suntrap of swanage bay. coming round into swanage
