When have you ever explored a cave in a kayak?!? Immerse yourself in the calming embrace of nature and challenge yourself while meeting like-minded folks and making lasting friends.
This 2 day, 1 night trip begins with underground kayaking in an abandoned mine in the Red River Gorge. You’ll work your way through the abandoned mine tunnels by the light of your headlamp. Your guides will work to educate you about the types of rock throughout the mine and the uses of the rocks. It is around 55 degrees inside so you’ll want to bring a light jacket and comfy clothes. It is also a good idea to bring a change of clothes and a towel just in case. All equipment needed is provided including kayak, helmet, life jacket, paddles, and headlamps.
After you leave the cave, you will hike some of the Red’s pristine trails as Spring begins to come to Kentucky. After a gourmet meal, you’ll spend a night under the stars in a cozy tent and crackling fire. The next morning, you’ll be served a warm breakfast with strong coffee before choosing between a last hike before we all go our separate ways. All meals will be provided and freshly prepared, you will be lead by our expert professionally trained guides, and you will have full access to all of our top-of-the-line adventure gear.
