Dymchurch in Kent is a seaside resort located 5 miles south-west of Hythe on the Romney Marsh. The village has a small fair ground and the usual chip shops etc. Dymchurch beach is sandy and quite flat, it stretches over 3 miles. There is plenty of car parking (pay and display), some along side the sea wall. Don’t forget your fishing rod if going afloat.

Between Folkestone and Rye on the A259

Toilets on seawall, 3 pubs, tescos express.
Hazards:
Safe shallow bay, no unusual hazards.
Ins and Outs:
Slipway for trolley portage in centre of village, carry kayaks over seawall at southern (martello) car park.
Notes:
Improvement work on the sea wall on the sea wall has put second slipway out of bounds, will be much better promenade when finished. 2011?
Overview:
Dymchurch has one of the best sandy beaches on the South Kent coast, very popular with day trippers and campers.
