Runswick Bay is a sheltered sandy beach on the beautiful Heritage Coast area of the North York Moors National Park.

How to get there:

Runswick Bay is 9 miles North of Whitby (use satnav TS13 5HT) then follow signs to beach.

Facilities:

Slipway onto beach. You can stop vehicles to unload here before parking in pay and display carpark 100 yards back up road.
Toilets.
Pub nearby.

Hazards:

As with all sea locations the main hazard is a change in weather. Best also to time your trip to take advantage of tidal streams for outward and return.

Overview:

A sheltered bay with a easy access by slip. Paddling north along rocky shoreline gives excellent views. The next bay along is Port mulgrave, good to put in and view the old fishing huts.
