Runswick Bay is a sheltered sandy beach on the beautiful Heritage Coast area of the North York Moors National Park.
How to get there:
Runswick Bay is 9 miles North of Whitby (use satnav TS13 5HT) then follow signs to beach.
Slipway onto beach. You can stop vehicles to unload here before parking in pay and display carpark 100 yards back up road.
As with all sea locations the main hazard is a change in weather. Best also to time your trip to take advantage of tidal streams for outward and return.
A sheltered bay with a easy access by slip. Paddling north along rocky shoreline gives excellent views. The next bay along is Port mulgrave, good to put in and view the old fishing huts.
