Studland to Swanage, Dorset, Kayaking Location

The beaches of the Studland peninsula stretch from the boundary of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site at Old Harry Rocks north to Shell Bay, where a chain ferry provides a link to Poole and Bournemouth.

South Beach is the smallest and popular with locals, Middle Beach is sheltered by low cliffs while Knoll Beach, backed by a wilderness of dunes, which has wide open spaces.

All are ideal for families with gently shelving bathing waters, convenient parking and other facilities.

How to get there:

Studland Peninsula, near Corfe Castle and Swanage, Dorset. Knoll Beach is the best place to park.

Facilities:

Plenty of buoys to tie off to on route if a rest is needed.. toilets and cafe at Knoll beach, and Swanage has all needed facilities right on the beach front.

Hazards:

Strong tide when entering Swanage Bay and the rocks at Old Harry’s

Notes:

As long as you don’t mind getting a bit muddy it is well worth the trip.
